About UsPima YOUTH Partnership (PYP) was founded in 1990 by a group of concerned citizens who saw that youth and families living in rural areas of Pima County did not have access to the same services, programs, and activities that youth and families had access to in Tucson. Starting in the three rural communities Ajo, Marana, and Sahuarita PYP began our mission: In partnership with communities, develop resources for the positive growth of their children. PYP has since explanded to the New Pascua Reservation, Old Pascua, the five (5) districts of the Tohono O'odham Nation, the Village of Catalina, Flowing Wells, and Apache County. In 2003-2004, over 5,600 youth and adults participated in PYP programs and collaborated with 200 partners in rural and Native American communities.
