Arizona Youth Partnership Job Description TITLE: Life Skills Educator HOURS: Part-time (20 hours/ week) SUPERVISED BY: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Coordinate and implement youth development programs including life skills, prevention peer leadership, and community service projects, as assigned. * Establish and maintain contacts with area schools, businesses, families, government entities and other youth serving organizations. * Teach life skills as an elective at assigned school(s) during the school year. * Coordinate and implement the life skills and community service projects for the assigned site. * Oversee youth development evaluation efforts for life skills and community service projects in collaboration with the project evaluator, including assisting in the development of a data collection schedule, training staff on data collection, collecting completed evaluation information and completing data entry. * Prepare and submit required reports. * Disseminate evaluation results and coordinate program reports to funding entities and other sources in collaboration with the project director and project evaluator. * Participate in organizational and program planning QUALIFICATIONS: * Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in child development, psychology, public health or related field + one (1) year experience working with youth OR 3 years working with youth, preferrably in classroom setting. * Excellent oral and written communication skills * Knowledge of Youth Development, Community Mobilization, ATOD, and Prevention Theories. * Strong computer skills including e-mail, Word, Excel and Access. REQUIREMENTS: * CPR, First Aide and Fingerprint Clearance * Current Arizona Driver’s License * Auto Insurance of $100,000 & $300,000 * Some evening, weekend hours as needed.
